I will be holding a news conference on Wednesday May 12th at 11AM on the Plaza Level of the Capitol to ask the Governor to call a special legislative session on renewable energy and conservation. As the oil leak in the Gulf so tragically demonstrates, we must end our dependence on oil. Funding solar, bio fuels, wind, wave, and other truly renewable sources is what we must do now.
Florida is blessed with the resources and climate to come from far behind and lead the nation in renewable energy. Please join me in this call to action by writing, emailing, or calling the Governor. Please join me at the Capitol on Wednesday morning. This is imperative for Florida to have hope for the future!
In the meantime, do all that you can to put a stop to our dependence on oil. Walk, bike, take the bus, or car pool. We are all in this together!

We must reclaim respect and fairness for Florida's public servants and work to solve the health care crisis in Florida, particularly as it effects our most vulnerable: our children, our elderly, and our sick.
Michelle grew up close to where Susan B. Anthony campaigned relentlessly for suffrage. Here is one of her favorite quotes: “It was we, the people; not we, the white male citizens; nor yet we, the male citizens; but we, the whole people, who formed the Union.... Men, their rights and nothing more; women, their rights and nothing less.”
~Susan B. Anthony
