Congratulations to the North Florida Parkinson Awareness Group and Patricia Hunt and other organizers for turning out more than 500 people at their first "Tulip Trot" at Tom Brown Park on Saturday, May 22nd. More than 400 runners participated in the 5 K event. The event also included a 50 yard victory dash honoring those with Parkinson Disease and their caregivers. I was proud to have been invited and to speak. The "can-do" attitude I saw in the faces of the runners and those attending is exactly what we need to solve the pressing problems of our state and nation. Entertainment was provided by the NFPAG Choir and the Tuesday Bluegrass Jam Group. Thank You Leon County. These are the events that make us all proud of our community! |

We must reclaim respect and fairness for Florida's public servants and work to solve the health care crisis in Florida, particularly as it effects our most vulnerable: our children, our elderly, and our sick.
Michelle grew up close to where Susan B. Anthony campaigned relentlessly for suffrage. Here is one of her favorite quotes: “It was we, the people; not we, the white male citizens; nor yet we, the male citizens; but we, the whole people, who formed the Union.... Men, their rights and nothing more; women, their rights and nothing less.”
~Susan B. Anthony
