What an example of how many things are going on in our vibrant community. Mike and I helped raise money for WFSU-FM at the Downtown Market from 10-12 and got a chance to see a lot of friends and meet many new ones. Then it was off to the Big Bend Homeless Coalition Services Day. As a relatively new BBHC Board Member, I got to see first hand how the board pulls our community together. It was heartening to see so many groups, from Echo to the US Marines come together to help those less fortunate. It was also a chance to see how much work remains.

I stopped in at Senator Lawson's and Representative Richardson's forum helping former felons to regain their rights. Despite the good efforts of Governor Charlie Crist to ease the burden of becoming a productive citizen once again, there is much to do to notify those who qualify to have their civil rights returned.

And if you didn't make it to the Greek Food Festival, you haven't gotten the full flavor of what our community has to offer. The festival started Friday morning and most of the frozen entries were gone by mid day. Mike and I saw dozens of people we knew and met many many more new friends and supporters. Thank you Tallahassee. You have a lot to offer!
